I used to collect only cream dials …

And had no black dials. But now, I only have one cream dial left (gave it to my sons) and most are black. Your photo rekindled my desire for cream dials again.
Aloha,
Bon

Imagine e cream dial and rose gold case!!! [nt]

I just do not think that it is as beautiful as described by many people. Firstly I do not like a cream dial with a clear case (maybe if the dial was a bit darker...). Furthermore I think that a PC expresses its own beauty at its best when is put together with a chronograph (This type of combination is my favourite: PP5204, Lange Datograph Perpetual...). Moreover I can not get the meaning of this watch: Patek said that this reference was vintage inspired and thought for a younger public however I do not think they managed in their purpose, I can not see nothing "young" in this timepiece. To sum up I would say that the success of this reference covered the beauty of a much nicer watch released this year: the 5372P-010. For me this is of the best watches from Patek in the last 3 years. Thanks for reading. Best

on some i agree.....on others i don't

For me.....I think the perpetual calendar is at best when it is purely a perpetual calendar. Combining it with a chronograph seems an odd thing to do other than to merely to create a very complicated watch. Don't get me wrong, I think the perpetual chrono can be a wonder. But in a purist sense, I think a perpetual calendar devoted to being purely a perpetual calendar is a wonder if done correctly. My favourite watch is a pure perpetual....maybe that is a bias for me.
I think the watch does borrow from the past. And i think that the purpose of this is to give it a more vintage feel with the view that this will appeal to younger buyers who simply cannot get to the actual vintage perpetuals as they are out of reach....
The 5372P is a beautiful watch, but its not in the same game as this one....its a totally different market in my view.
Having the cream dial with a white metal is not to my taste. Clearly not to yours either......but people have differing tastes, so it will appeal to many.
Like Nicolas, I cannot get past the portholes which, for my taste, do not help the cohesion and balance of the dial. Without the portholes, I would find this more appealing.

I would be curious to see a photoshop on this watch WITHOUT the 2 holes on each side of the date and moonphase... I am disturbed by them. [nt]

I agree.

What's the value to know if it's the 2nd or 3rd year of the leap year circle? Furthermore, if I do not know if it's day or night, something is badly wrong with my head.

To set the QP complication and at the right moment [nt]

That could be accomplished on the verso.... doesn't need to be on the dial [nt]

This is easy to say but not easy to do

Modifying a movement in order to transfer the information from a side to another, especially when a movement is made from 2 modules is not something that can be done without heavy time and investment.

It would be easier to make a new movement from the beginning.

The construction and design of such modules is made so that the escapement gearings and parts are reliable and accurate. The QP module is also something quite tricky to integer in such a small room (more a question considering thinness rather than surface).

Hence, puting leap year indication that is dependent of the star shaped pieces position (thus that cannot be moved that easily) and the day and night indicator on the other side is not something that can be done.

It is like moving the small second of a 240 caliber at 6 as often suggested by people on the net but impossible to do.

I know all this and I would be happy if both holes

would be covered. Look at the oldest PP QP. Furthermore, the watch would get a more classic look.
Like said, the leap year indicator could be on movement side.

Like this......to me the perfect PP QP

Cannot beat your watch

When the 5320 comes out with white/silver dial and sticks, it will really catch on.
