I have learned something new actually - sometimes even if you don't appear to have that much in common with your partner, you could gel very well if your characteristics complete each other. Wait! Wat! I almost forgot that this is a watch forum!
Firstly happy birthday Secondly big congrats on acquiring this piece I saw it about 10 years ago but it was way out of my budget You are very lucky to have such a kind and accommodating AD Firstly to hold onto it whilst you pay it off and secondly to send it to a tax free haven - how is this even done ?
I was therefore most disappointed to find out a few months ago that my AD has lost its Patek dealership. I believe Patek has been trying to reduce the number of outlets selling its watches to assist in distribution and availability so my AD which had six branches carrying the brand has had to reduce this to three branches, mine being one of the three that will stop carrying Pateks. Considering I have bought no fewer than eight Pateks from them over the last 15 years is testimony to their excellent service. I mean even after retiring to Malaysia 6 years ago, I still flew back to the UK for every Patek event and continued patronising the shop.
Waiting for a watch makes the actual ownership of it even more pleasurable in my opinion. I had waited almost 6 years for the RW Smith and by the time my Frodsham arrives in 2027, it too would have been a 6 year wait!
I just emailed him last night warning him of a fourth potential customer I have recommended to him. I am so pleased to hear that your watch is rock solid. That by the way will be my exit watch - simply because there will be zero money left after that - I need the cash to pay my water bills!!
