Loved mine since it arrived in 2007
I ordered it in the beginning of 2006 and eagerly anticipated its arrival. Back then the delivery from date of order was about a year.
It has been a tremendous companion and initially didn't see much wrist time, however since I put in onto a Paul Gerber leather strap with green stitching from his Model 42 Synchron, I have enjoyed it considerably more in the past 5 years.
I believe it's one of those watches that typically really crazy watch lovers initially went for and has garnered many more fans since then as it became more widely seen in WIS circles and understood for what it is and possibly more importantly represents in the watch world.
Anyway, I love mine:

Some great pics and love your strap choice
Not a rubber strap person myself and am still getting used to the silicone on the ABR. Seeing such a convincing alternative for the MIH is just another reason for getting one eventually.

Tim, your strap is an excellent complement to the MIH watch...
and in fact - dare I say? - the best alternative to the original one that I have seen so far. This for me highlights another important point that was not that clear to me thus far: how much time has been spent by the MIH team to decide on the tiniest details!

Modified 7750 yes, but with Gerber and Oschlin fiddling with it ... Does anyone know?

What a great write-up and pictorial !.. I am late, but hopefully not too late..
.. Stumbled over this comprehensive post with splendid pics,
and have enjoyed your background rich report, about birth
and prospering of the MIH project & watch.
I am fascinated about this timepiece, connected so strongly
to function and to design, by following the " Less is More" principle..
Having said so, let me mention that I would be very interested,
in acquiring this watch.
- Is the MIH watch still be produced and available for purchase ?
- If so, what would be the procedure, distribution channels
or sales spots ?
- Finally I would appreciate some info about a current list price,
if this is not asking too much of course..
If this last Q is considered against Forum rules, a PM ( to hs111)
would be very welcome & appreciated.

A few replies to a fellow Austrian...
according to the MIH watch website, its still there for order. You can order via that site or with the backing retailer, embassy in Lucerne. Price is stated on that site.
If you want to see the watch in person, I own one and we could certainly meet for a coffee in Vienna.
