what Paul Sacher was for early modern music
you may become for watchmaking, great piece but also really impressive interaction between artist and patron. Loved that post and the watch is, of course outstanding from every angle.

A watch the ends it all...
and says so much about the maker and the patron! For me everything is done right, the conception of the movement, its layout and execution, the dial (including the exotic choice of materials).
This watch would give me much more pleasure than any complicated piece, any tourbillon, or Grande Complication. It is a thoroughly handmade piece, born as a child of two parents, each of which had his sensible imprint in the final piece.
It is a watch I ever dreamt about. Exactly my type of timepiece!
Honestly, I would not know which watch could ever come after - Is there any conceivable at all?
One thing I really would like to know is if you have more details on the balance assembly, and how much time and effort Mr Klings had to invest in finishing the bridges.

That's quite a big statement!
We are agreed, though, that a simple watch such as this one can give at least as much pleasure, if not more, than a complicated piece or Grande Complication. That having been said, the luxury of commissioning a very complicated piece has been elusive to this point in time, so who knows? After this experience, however: "watch this space".
Presently, the amount of time invested by Chris in finishing the bridges and assembling the balance is unknown; hopefully, though, it will be possible to provide that detail to you shortly. As you would know from reviewing his website, he seems to be quite good at keeping records of such 'investments'.
