.....i always look forward to our London gtg. You show tremendous thought and focus in your collecting. I try to be like you in focus....but then always lapse back into me with the impulse. My former boss always told me to shoot first and ask questions later...i think I took that to heart maybe. I have said it once but will repeat again and again...the watches are fun. Great fun, in fact. But that pales compared with the friendships that develop as a result of the watches.
"Patience is a virtue?”……no it is not. This is a lie perpetuated by people who have holes in their watch collections" ))))) I will remember that for long time! Thanks Joe and hope to meet you one day. Best regards
And this one is no exception. What an enjoyable read! I also enjoyed your comment Joe about consolidating after 5 and 10 years. I'm in my 5th year, and yes, you're absolutely spot-on. What insight!
The series is a wonderful mechanism to get to know the fellow Purists better and it's another great installment! So thanks to Joe for baring lots and to Damjan for having launched this excellent platform!
Dear Joe: How nice to know more about you, your profession, your collecting thoughts!...

... I have a big respect for your opinions about collecting and understood how a mature collector you are when you decided to thin your collection (even if it included saying good by to some fantastic vintage Rolex you owned!) to give your collection the direction you wished to go. I enjoyed so much reading this interview which as in your posts show again that mature approach to collecting.
As you well say the stories and the people behind the watches are the best part of the enjoyment of this hobby. And PuristS offer us this opportunity of sharing our passion and meeting wonderful people like you! I wish to meet you personally some day soon!
Thank you for sharing with us this interview and again congrats to Damjan for his idea of producing this series! All the best, Abel.
Joe's been our partner in crime on Wrist Scan . . .

. . . since the team was formed, but I'd no idea he was a clinical criminologist. Little wonder he's so insightful! (Into our motivations, that is . . . no criminals here, I trust.)
