These biggies are really miniclocks
You can't button up your sleeve and they really bulge out.
My friend says they're really outlandish.
It was mentioned above and I second the idea. I can understand buying the compass as part of the heritage and the limited utility. It's big but reasonably priced for something that would fit nicely in a collection. Look at this monster Russian dive watch. Sure I bought it and I would never wear it but it is a novelty at the price I paid. A conversation piece like the pilot watches that you strap on your thigh. I really wonder what Panerai had in mind on such an important watch. It is clearly targeted at collectors. At 60mm I find it somewhat hard to wear without drawing unwanted attention. I am a diehard fan and supporter of the brand so I will stand by and hope I get a call.

You do have a VERY big and interesting collection.
I guess you won't wear all your pieces or you'll have to change several times a day
So, would you buy a watch (to complete your collection) even if you know you'll probably almost never wear it ?
Perhaps they should be worn strapped to the outer aspect of the upper arm.
That would take care of the buttoning problem at the wrist.
I only collect and wear watches that I really like.
They are painstakingly wound up and wiped clean every weekend.
some more pictures of big watch, small wrist...for good or bad...
