My favourites are the MUT 1907 and the Duometre. I got to see Joe's latter and it was really a treat.
An enamel dial piece is quite high on my wish list.

I almost bought the Master Ultra Thin 1907 Enamel. But finally as the JLC Boutique was able to source a Master ultra Thin Jubilee Pt for me, I opted for the latter as it is even thinner.

Enamelling art is not common. I hope we get to see more of such high art pieces in future?

I know something about that....
I agree with you, simple withe a Grand Feu enameled dial. Enameled dials do not fade and some times so bright it may be the first thing you notice when you glance at a watch.
However, I do not think it just began on watches. It is just rare for enameling metal is difficult because it has to be fired numerous times. Different colors melt and become viscous at different temperatures. It is a learned skill not easily mastered, time consuming, and expensive. I remember doing a research project in college between my 3rd and 4th year on enameling. It was humbling to say the least! Oh, my undergraduate degree was Ceramic and Materials Engineering.
Not 15 minutes ago I read a review on a new Breguet 40 mm Classique 8147 ( I believe) with.a Grand Feu enameled dial. From the photos it looks great but I cannot wait to see one in person.
