I never encountered it! You can see that it is 38mm in the overall balance of the dial. They kept the font size of the numeral and that creates a slightly bigger 'empty' area in the center.
Even if slightly bigger, this one is completely in the spirit of the MUT 34. That spirit changed a bit later on with the bigger automatic Ultra Thin family.
