It started in the 80’s >
I have never been a wearer of the Reverso watches, but from the 80’s I always admired Jaeger-LeCoultre watches which often left me hesitant despite my true appreciation for them.
The first Jaeger-LeCoultre I purchased was a lady duetto ;-)
Then came the 90’s, Do you remember that combine complication of a Perpetual calendar with an Alarm in a round shaped watch? Well this was my first Jaeger-LeCoultre watch… and the birth of my feelings for the brand.
Also in the 90’s, Jaeger-LeCoultre presented 2 limited edition watches in platinum, The Master Geographic and the Master Perpetual Calendar, my appreciation for the brand increased further and I eventually made it to make the acquisition form the Watches of Switzerland (New Bond Street London) of the Master Geographic. My appreciation started turning into something else already.
BUT what as turn my appreciation into admiration and a passion for Jaeger-LeCoultre, is the people behind the curtains, THE Team.
It has been about 3 years that I was given a chance to get closer to Jaeger-LeCoultre. I since discovered that behind the curtaines there was a true Team at the service of their clients. Personally, I relate more with a product (here a watch) when I am interested either by its history or for what it represents to me. Today I am able to relate to every JLC piece I come across because I now know more about the people at JLC and their determination in sharing their innovations and passion for their industry.
At JLC, from top to bottom they give you time, and they invite you to voyage into them in a humble, friendly and elegant manner. Humble you ought to be too, because the more interests you will show, the deeper you want to go, the more you will get from everyone at JLC! Jaeger-LeCoultre is an inescapable centre in the industry of horology, their passion is what they love sharing, and their clients is what they truly highly value.
Since the 90's I added more pieces to my collection:
8 Days Perpetual Calendar Antoine Le-Coultre
Amvox 2 Concept (PVD)
Amvox 1R
Master Minute Repeater Antoine Le-Coultre
Amvox 2 DBS.
and, I look so forward to be a wearer to a few more passionate executions from Jaeger-LeCoultre, because each 'one more' piece from JLC is to me a way to thanking JLC for welcoming me in a style in which I see no other watch-companies offering to their customers, and for making me appreciate and understanding my pieces much more than just timekeepers.
As a proud owner of a JLC that I intend to keep indefinitely it is very good to know how special the relation between JLC and its clients is.
Thanks!

My history is pretty simple as it is only 6 months old.
About 6 months ago I bought my dad a vintage JLC. In that process I realized I like the modern JLC a lot more. So I went to my local AD. The first watch I tried on was a Master Ultra Thin. I liked it a lot, but deemed I will hardly use a dress watch. While in the store he had a pre-owned RDM with solid back. I tried that on and immediately fell in love. Both the MUT and the RDM spoke to me on the spot. I turned both down because it was too early in the game and I didn't want to rush into a wrong decision. I had also tried some newer Master Series (too thick, too big) and some reverso. I had also tried some other brands too. Only the MUT and RDM spoke to me. But I can't really believe love at first sight, can I?
After all, there are so many different models I haven't seen or tried yet.
Few weeks later, an opportunity came up and I bought a Master Moon from another local dealer. But when I got home, although it was s a nice watch, I thought about the MUT and RDM. Nevertheless this Master Moon was purchased as an additional gift to my father.
Then a few more weeks past and I bought a Master Reveil. Again, although the watch was very nice, I thought about the MUT and RDM.
Then two weeks before Christmas, through the sales corner of another website, I bought a 2005 RDM. Although this watch was not as expensive as the Master Moon or the Master Reveil, but to me, it's simply stunning on my wrist. This is mine to keep.
Then in mid-January, I bought a Reverso Duo. It's nice and everything, but I can't shake the MUT off my mind. And just for the record, this Reverso is another gift for my dad.
Finally, last week while in the UK, I bought a 2006 MUT from a local AD. It's a stunning watch just like the RDM. It took me a long time in the shop to decide to take it. Part of me said I will hardly need a dress watch, but the other half said this will be great watch for my dad.
So after quite a few watches I ended up with the first and the only two JLC that speaks to me. I will keep the RDM and my dad will have the MUT next time when I see him.
But now that you made your mind on the MUT, and the RDM, and that your mind is free now, don't you think that there is some place for another, and what should it be?
Thanks again, Marty, for your input!

When I was in the 3rd grade, my father ran the ad agency thart represented Timex in Singapore. I got to choose one watch for my birthday, it was a square Timex. I was hooked on watches from that day. Looking through my father's collection of watches, dabbling with Casios and such till i turned 24 and bought my first mechanical, a Rolex Date. That was the watch that tipped the scale into mechanical watches...i started collecting 321 Speedmasters, Sports Rolex, vintage chronographs and military watches.
It was the WWW JLC that piqued my interest in JLC, here is a tool watch with a movement that surpassed the rest of the WWWs. Alas, the JLC WWW and a subsequent Master Mariner went away to fund some sports Rolex purchases. Which turned out to be wise decision financially but they lacked the finess and artistic quality of a JLC.
The Master Perpetual was my grail watch when i read about it in the 98 catalog, I decide that it will be a milestone watch; one that I would not purchase till I reached a notable milestone in my career. 10 years later, I finally have one on my wrist, it was worth the wait.
