Sorry I really don't get the idea of the link to Navy Seal. But I'm glad that they are LEs, because I think the current models are great and do not need to be replaced so quickly.

Out of these 3 LEs, I like the NSA most. I think the best part of this watch is the new strap! Can you please tell me your though on this strap? I'm really intrested of it and will probably get it (if possible) for my diving chrono.

There is 1 detail that bothers me on the NSA is the engraving logo on the crystal. I know they are there because the rotating alarm disc. But it looks pretty distracting for me... (Other may like it)

 

I do appreciate the strap, as it is, IMO, the best combo for the NSA.

The Nato is not bad, either.

Of course, it will also be great for the Diving Chrono!

you will be able to ask to your AD for this strap when the watch will be avalaible, as some of us did fro the Amvox ( we put the Amvox III strap on the A II, and the combo, IMO, is the best one ).

As for the engraving writings ( not Logo ) on the crystal, I disagree with you, as it is much more discrete than classical writings on the dial.

Under some angles, you hardly notice it.

I agree with you Nicolas, I don't get the RG version so of these diving watches at all. But I do like both the alarm and the chrono Navy Seals.  The addition of a second time zone with a second hour hand to the chrono is brilliant.  I also really like the dial of the chrono, best of all three Navy Seals, I think.  The Navy Seal editions continue to establish JLC's position as a Manufacture of great diving watches, non?

I still wonder why JLC has not expanded its use of the quick strap change mechanism to more of its lines. As it stands it is only available on a very few watches.  It would be so nice on these, for instance, to be able to easily switch among the several available straps for the alarm or chrono.  Maybe that is not such a good idea for a diving watch -- not being a diver, I just don't know.

Thanks for the great report. You really are such a talented wrist model.  I don't think you get enough credit for that. LOL.

I have a good friend who prefers the Navy Seals Chrono, like you.

Of course, it looks great.

I really love the grainé / smooth combination on the dial of the Chrono.

As for the quick change of straps, I would like to see it on these new watches, but it seems to be reserved to the EWC, only.

Once you're used to it, you don't get why all the sport watches don't offer it, it's true.

For once that I avoided the hairy wrist shot...now you complain?

It is wonderful to see some "real life" pictures of these watches and to read your remarks on them. I think the NSA is the big winner as well--I love the design. My only gripe is that the seconds hand looks a little short for the dial--it would be better if it extended to the minute marks, beyond the minute hand. But maybe on the production model it will? Love the watch--now if only I had the opportunity ($$$) to choose between the Dive GMT or NSA...

I didn't even noticed that the Second hand was a bit shorty, but it doesn't disturb that much.

Therefore, you must have in mind that the watches shown here are protos, and that in general, JLC improves the quality of their definitive model.

While I've been admiring the NSA ever since I saw the first picture, I had the pleasure to see and feel the chrono GMT version at the Beverly Hills Boutique last Tuesday.  Totally impressive is a good summation.  But, the watch, while being substantial in its dimensions, it also feels comfortable on the wrist.  The titanium material must play a good role in making it such and perhaps the articulated rubber bracelet contributes to the overall balance as the watch doesn't feel top heavy like some other oversized watches.  Having said that, the NSA is *the* winner of the bunch with its more universal size and the gratiously designed simpler dial.  At least I think so.

It was another nice surprise, and I had the same feeling while putting it on my wrist.

Another tempting choice, indeed.

big negative in my mind. I am not really the type to desire a watch because it is associated with a group or person. As many others have expressed, thankfully JLC was wise enough to keep any Navy Seal logos off the face of the watch. 44mm is a bit big for me, but certainly the winner of the bunch IMO is the alarm. I have never liked the blue theme of the diving watches so I am glad to see that changed here as well.

I would need to see one in person to be sure but the alarm looks great, despite the name...

But I had the same problem with the Amvox being somehow related to a car brand. But I have to admit that the alarm looks great. Just don't want to be caught by a muslim terrorist with this thing on my wrist (no, no don't look at the back!!).

Your style of presentation on your reports is well admired. You make your point clear while still being fair to the other models etc. I'm going to have to say that my fav. of all these new models would have to be the NSA but followed very closely by the MCDCGMTNS (NSC). I love the way JLC has made a slight contrast on its dial, going from smooth to grainy. The chrono has a lot going on to it,  but yet JLC has not made it look too busy IMHO. I think that might be why JLC chose to increase its diameter from 44 to 46.3mm. This comes to me as a slight disppointment tho . Having a MCDC, I was hoping to be able to change the bezel from the present (Ti) to the new ceramic. Ive owned mine for almost a year now, as you might already know/remember. I wear it at least 3 to 4 days out of the week, and even more during our warm days here in Arizona. And I must admit that I truely enjoy life without constantly being concerned about its little things, like NOT getting a single scratch on my watches, etc...I think it adds character to it more than anything else. BUT, the MCDC Ti bezel scratches not only very easily, but it unfortunately shows quiet obviously! Therefore, I believe having a ceramic bezel on mine would add a new compliment to my watch. Any idea if the NSA bezel could be put on my chrono by any chance? Or if JLC would consider giving that option to its fans/owners like myself?!?!

Have to agree with Matrix here... the Ti bezel scratches very easily... but the big problem is that even minor marks show up really big... kind of glitters and sparkles in bright light, almost advertising the fact that it has scratches.

So I also pose the question... would JLC consider allowing owners (at owner's cost) to swap to the new bezel at service?

After just a few day of wearing it came in contact (light contact)  with the metal zipper on my jacket and result was 7-8 parallel scraches on the bezel. It looked really not pretty. 

Matrix, I doubt a lot JLC will accept to do that, my friend.

But you may ask JLC to polish your bezel...

Agree with you on what you said about the very appealing layout of the NSC dial.

I loved that detail of the smooth / grainy contrast a lot.

As for the size, and the feeling on the wrist, I can't agree more with what said I.W.C above.

At the end, a very tempting watch.

Why in the world would JLC care on what its loyal customers/biz supporters would prefer to do with their already purchased time pieces?!!!!!??? You could purchase a nice AM DBS, wear a nice AMVOX DBS along with it and also be able to change its wheels to all chrome or all black if you like...So why wouldnt JLC "be ok" with changing the bezel for us if thats what we choose to do at OUR COST!?!?!? Is this something that you've already been nice enough to ask, or just your take!?!? Or both.

If JLC would allow any customer to 'upgrade' their watch to effectively convert it to a version that is a limited edition, then they would be unloyal to those who have paid to buy the watch from the limited edition, as some of them might specially have decided to buy the watch because they though it was more exclusive.

Plus, from a commercial point of view, the marketing is supposed to introduce new products which are attractive, but also make the former products obsolete, so in a way create a new demand among clients. If you allow the clients to 'upgrade' their watch, then you just cut the branch on which you sit.

I can see how this is frustrating, but this is just the way it is.

The solution would be to go for aftermarket parts (as per the chrome wheels you can put on your car if you wish to do so), and from that respect, JLC would have no word to say on that, as as the legitimate owner of the watch, you can do whatever you want with it after you purchased it. But I doubt there will be a maker for that kind of very specialised technical / limited demand part.

To take again your analogy with cars, if you buy an Aston Martin DB7, and then when you see the limited DB7 Zagato and you want to buy the parts to 'upgrade' your car, I doubt they will cooperate.

That might be sad from a customer perspective, but this is just the way business works.

lol joking buddy. Thank you for your detailed explanation of how the 'watch world' works, esp in our case with JLC. BUT I still don't agree with them limiting our options and choices just because they wanna make more cash. This new LE piece is very enough different than its prev. model to where anyone, esp. the ones that should, would know the difference in between the 2  if the bezels where to be changed. Its sad that one would have to go through indirect options (not though the company, JLC itself) in order to make this happen. I would NEVER even consider putting any other bezel than a true JLC on my watch to make things real clear. But may work for others...

This kind of tuning is also a bad thing, about the authenticity of your watch, if you change some parts of it.

This won't be anymore an authentic Master Compressor, but a kind of mix.

In terms of colltcion, it may not be good, don't you think?

Although I appreciate the practicality of the ceramic bezels on the Navy Seal Divers, I much prefer the contrast between the steel bezels and the black dials of the prior generation. I am also not particularly fond of the new straps. I would jump all over the original Pro Geographic if it wasn’t such a behemoth! At 46.3 mm x 19.8 mm my wrist certainly could not handle such a watch. I would love it if they came out with a more practical size. Although I own a MC Diver GMT, I think the original Pro Geo is the most beautiful watch of all the entire Master Compressor Diving collection. Just my two cents

I love it. It is the best one in the diving collection. Just tried it at AD last week and totally fall in love with it. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be and it doesn't weight more than my diving chrono either. But...when I saw the price tag, I almost fell on the floor...
