Both watches are beautiful.  I for one do not mind the date window cutting into the inner circle on the International.  What does disturb me a little is the way the international time function works. You are correct to say that it is not really a complication.  I mean, JLC has done a true world time complication in other watches already (the EWA and EWC come to mind), so why not here?

In any case, they are both lovely, and it is good to have the Memovox back in the saddle again.

My guess is that JLC wanted to pay an hommage to their first Memovox World Time.

So, the weight of History was more important than Innovation on this watch, but it doesn't really matter to me, as it is always nice to see some nices pieces ressurging from the Past.

Maybe one day we'll have a Memo and a true World Time associated?

I had a chance to see both the Master Memovox and Memovox International at the boutique, both in steel, and I found both quite nice.  I prefer the simpler dial of the Master Memovox, and because I am a slave to my job and family, my opportunities to use the International complication would be infrequent.

The most interesting thing for me was to compare the alarm of the stainless Memovox to that of a titanium Amvox1.  When I start the CaliforniaJed manfactury, all of our alarms and repeaters will be cased in Titanium!

As the Amvox I and the new Memo don't share the same Caliber, and that also makes a difference.

So you should better compare the sound of a Navy Seals Alarm ( in titanium ) and the new Memo, in SS.

So, you will appreciate the difference.

As for the International, this is more a decoration than a complication, as it is far from working like a PP WT.

But it is a very cool watch, full of nostalgia, and Dreams.

A really lovely report, was wondering when you would post one on the new Mevovox's and can't say that I am disappointed.

My heart is set on the SS Memovox International and I already ordered it from my AD.  I figured that it would be an instantaneous hit.

I'm kind of disappointed that it hasn't been discussed more.

Any idea on delivery dates?

It will be discussed more and more with Time, BUT it has already been discussed a lot when I made the post on the new Memo, in December 2009.

So, the novelty was not anymore a novelty, when revealed at the SIHH...

IMO, you made an excellent choice, and I even think I will follow you on this one.

I had the chance to see the international in London but I think the classic Memovox Reveil has a very elegant timeless appeal.It could be a perfect everyday wear.Always understated and classy.Maybe SS for me.Mo

International or " simple " they have both their charm and appeal.

Thanks Nicoals, this is another excellent post - i very much like and appreciate your part about the history of the Momovox and of course the coverage of the new models.

Pesonally, i would go for the simple dial version either in SS or RG. More classic from my point of view and the dial is more "clean". Also the mark up of 1500 Euros just for the WT disk seems a bit too much - of course it is a limited version - but still too much.

Your reviews are only getting better! But how? They've always been amazing with little room for improvement. Thanks again for the education my friend. I will have to say that the MI is my fav. but like you, I cant decide SS or RG!? I would lean more towards the SS. More relaxed IMHO.

BUT a lot of different models were made, too.

So, if you divide them by the number of watches released, in some case, you will notice that scarcity is real.

On another note, scarce or not, the Memo is and will remain the Memo, a nice, Class and timeless watch.

It is sometimes more important than rarity, to my eyes.

Both beautiful but I find the International dial a bit 'busy' but love the deep black....if the regular Memovox had the black dial that would be worth a serious look.  In fact I wouldn't be surprised one day by a boutique black edition so I'll just have to sit back and wait...

Throw in a display back like the previous model in black and I don't think I could resist..!!

Actually, if you remember it well, the Master Reveil never came with such a black dial.

So, I don't know.

More sober or busier dial?

The dial of the " International " is indeed busier, and doesn't offer the same sobriety than on the " normal " Memovox, but it has a " je ne sais quoi " which drives me crazy.

It is certainly futile, but hey, do we have to rationnalize, to give reasons to our Passion?

...already that I'm smitten with the new Memovox!  I like that JLC has created a special stand just for the watch for anyone who wants to display it, and/or use it for their bedside alarm!  I would be scared to knock it off my nightstand while trying to turn off the alarm, however!

after reading your post on these very nice memovox, i went to search more info and tried to learn more on this line of models. And I found there was another model named "Memodate" which was not mentioned in your post.

you excluded Memodate from your post, was it because it falls in different line than Memovox?

The Memodate is a Memvox...

Some markets sometime gave other names to the Memovox: Wrist Alarm, Memodate are among them.
