...if we had the Soixantieme and the Septantieme ten and twenty years ago. Does it make the Tribute we are having the Huitantieme, whether or not JLC call it so? Since there is no other Reverso more special to come out for this anniversary?

And, of course, congratulations on an article well written. I would be sitting restlessly now if the Tribute had a sapphire crystal on it and if I don't already own a black Reverso. Speaking of which, I am surprised to see that the Tribute is fitted with Caliber 822. I thought it was going to get a variation of the Caliber 976 without the second hand. Perhaps it it does not fit. I like the curvature and the flowing bridges of the 822 better than the stiff 976 anyway.

But French, Swiss and Belgians will all say " Quatre vingtième ".

It seems that the TT 1931 will come with a sapphire glass, as the plexy on the protos may well be changed on the definitive watches...

This piece grabbed my wife's heart when we saw it a few weeks back at JLC BHB.

Elegant yet sporty and gracefully updated for the 80 year anniversary. 

My wife is not much of a gold person and we both love the understated style of the SS.  A must have for this year.

pure class and a beautiful re-edition but in a more modern size which will work for either male or female wrists.  If I had a partner I might be tempted to get one for her so I could wear it too..

For me the black face is a stunner...how hard is it to get an original these days..?

Of this watch Nic.it is, as someone wrote,watch of the year. I look forward to seeing it live and I'm fairly shure I'll be getting one. Is it already on display at jlc in Paris? I will be in Paris mid April.
I attended a JLC dinner in Copenhagen last week and this watch was widely discussed. One of the JLC representatives explained, regarding the missing brand name on the dial, that this had created quite some discussion within the company. However, it is my feeling that this is a great move by JLC and a contributing factor to the cool factor of this watch. Lots of confidence in the iconic status and pure beauty of the Reverso.well done JLC.

Everybody knows that is a JLC.

JLC knows that this watch is so famous that  having just " Reverso " on  the dial is enough, chic and Historic, too.

As for the availabilty of the first pieces, April is clearly a goal, JLC is doing all they can for that.

The mere fact that I, with my really light complexion, am considering a PG watch should be a clear warning. But, now I must admit that I even have started to like the PG version of the tribute. The grain on the white dial which I have seen on some other photos is really something.

The SS tribute is probably the "right" choice, and I would even have liked to see it with the 12 and 6 clock numbers from the PG version. But there is one thing that leaves this watch a bit cold to me, I've become so used to seeing this classic Reverso with the yellowish-tritium indexes, that I am afraid the tribute looks a tad bit "unpersonal" with it's pristine white ones. Suppose I have to go vintage then ...

    or more likely, wait for a future white metal version of the Reverso, hopefully an email dial one.

I am so happy that JLC choose to make exact this tribute!

 

Don’t know if you recall, but almost a year ago I told you that one of my dreams is to have an original Reverso with black dial with only the “Reverso” on the dial?

 

What have been holding me back on following that dream has been the size (and some Memos that came in the way…).

 

But now I have a chance to get both size and looks in the same watch!

 

Perfect!

- Nevertheless, for my part as well, I'll start with this magnificent SS- version, so pure and - well , how did Nicolas phrase it,
- " timeless" . - Yes, exactly that.

But then , " .. weapon oneself against a sea of plagues ?" of more CHOICES - nice, isn't it ?

A real " IT" piece, iconic and somehow " must have" in its quiet , but elegant appeal,

Having the original and the Tribute is an excellent idea for any JLC Fan.

I will get this new bird as soon as possible, as I need to re build my collection, a bit.

Luckily, this is not the most expensive one to hunt.

And it will change you from your usual " round " watches, eeeh?

Now when JLC has fulfilled my wettest Reverso dreams I think (know) I will have a year of pain!

 

Pain because once again I will not be able to keep up with JLC’s all new releases…

 

No, not the most expensive, but add the two TT DSA to the equation…

Nicolas, congratulations for your excellent review!

You perfectly highlight the interest of the watch and I share your conclusion: The TT 1931 is a brillant tribute because it combines:

• - the respect of the original in many aspects. In addition to the nice indexes, I am very pleased to see that only "Reverso" is the only inscription on the dial.
• - a new size which remains elegant. Until now, I had my reverso in only 2 sizes: the original for the vintage models + the GT for the Duoface. But since I tried the TT 1931 when it was presented at a preview in Paris, I have been convinced. And this new reverso is ordered.

I am now looking forward to receiving it.

There are Key points, for me.

Now, I had to see it in the flesh, to be sure.

And, as you, I'm convinced. More, I'm in love with it.
