Thank you, Nicolas. You are right, no lume on the steel but on the gold. And it seems from the case back number that the watch is not a prototype?? I must admit I was just assuming that the hands have a matte side, since JLC have been doing that in the past, but if they have made it full polish that is really good thing

JLC will have to work on the lack of coherence of non luminous hands while there are luminous dots on the dial...

Aah Ok, so they are protos. Right you are that they will both end up with lume on the hands since there are lumedots on the dial. I would like to have see it without.

And I think I prefer white dial when it’s so many details on the dial.

 

Two details that surprise me:

 

1. If my eyes don’t deceive me, the only hand that is heated blue is the second hand, the others looks painted…

 

Like on the Mater HT. Look at the GMT hour hand…

 

 

 

And the Second hand and the arms for sun and moon…

 

 

 

Personally I prefer heated blue.

 

2. Same crown on both sides – I would prefer some difference between the two.

Like you I would say that the only heated blue hand is the central second... All the others being painted, which is regrettable on such a nice watch.

As for the crowns, which should be different, I see your point, for an every day use, and to make it even easier, but aesthetically speaking would it be better to differenciate them?

I realized that on the Master HT (and on the Geo as well) – you have hands with mixed blue/steel.

 

Then it’s difficult to make heated blue…

 

But on the other hand – why not make the whole hand blue…

 

As you can see in Nicolas pics, the centre is steel.

Can't seem to find one just yet. Well, maybe if they could move the left crown to the right like the Master World Geographic or the Memovox if you get the picture. But that is negligible. Nice dial layout, good case size, perfect.

The city names on the bottom are a big turn off for me. The watch is very beautiful the dail is balanced and I love when a second time zone comes with a full watch dail instead of just an extra hand or a 24 hour sub dail.It's just that I live someplace and go to places that are not included in the names of the cities. Also I don't know I just don't like city names on my watch. Nice post, I always enjoy the details that go in every one of your posts. Thanks for the info and the pics!

... comparing two types of metal for the case, as Blomman said, SS looks better to be able to show the details of the dial, especially the blue hands match relatively well with the while dial. however having said that, i find it seems too many hands with blue which makes thing a bit overly placed.

for the size of the case, i think 39mm may be the theme or direction for this year, it is interesting to see it has the same diameter as that of Grande MUT Moon.

in any case, it is good news to me for a small wrist size as i am

if i don't have my MHT, i would seriously consider in getting this one!

MJLC really offers us lot of excitments for this year!!!

But I hope you don't mind me saying that I like this new version. Even though I already own the RDM this bird would still get a warm welcome! Can't wait to see the black dialed version. What I like is the 39 mm case, small bezel, thick case, awesome dial; yep I am late again, so everything is allready said. Two questions; could you tell me the price and what sort of finish does the dial has got (some earlier pictures made it look like the same grain finish on the duometre, but now it looks more like sun burst).

Guess it is going to be between a black dialed chrono and the black dialed geographique. Thanks for the post Nicolas,

1/ The dial has a sunburst finish.

2/ As for the price, it is somewhere around 6500  Euros for the SS version, of course.

I can't remember correctly.

3/ The black Geogaphique is in all our prays, but it has not been announced. We all wish that JLC will hear us, and I'm confident they will.

Great! I've the version of the 90' and the 2000 something with 41.5mm (ss) - what I was really missing was a look at my watch to have the information at one quick look - I feel, both are missing clarity and calmness on the face. The "new" GEO looks like it has that clarity and calmness, even an aura that surrounds it.

The finishing problems with the older versions: both of my Geo versions have clattering sub-dials (time zone/city indications). Sure, that sub-dial must be flexible to adjust for the respective time zone, however, I think that can be done in a better way. Plus, in that price bracket, the sub-hands should be coloured by temperature rather than lacquer.

Do you know if at least that clattering has vanished?

clattering means ratting i.e. it makes noise when you alter the position of the watch. Sure, improvements are to be made everywhere, or at least should be made. However, I consider sme brands matured and the higher the price, the more one expects I guess...

In this case, it may be due to the use of the ceramic ball bearings.

No I am afraid, the 2001 rotor version was not ceramic ball mounted. So it is really down to the flexible time zone/city sub-dial here.

The ceramic ball mounted rotor is a different question but also a very good one. I've got the 2004 version of the Master Home Time, the Master Compressor (2006) where the rotor is quite discernible (noticeable), but not only in its horizontal movements (and is the way it should be due to the construction) but also the vertical movements which is less desirable I guess.
My perception is, they got it better in the Master Compressor GMT (2008/9) which I am wearing most of the time and 24/7

Well, also somewhat late I am and after a pretty big smile at first, when I saw those great pics:
- so familiar, so much liked, so much JLC for me, as for many.
-- then repeatedly looked on these pictures, now some remarks, no better - feelings:
( what could I still say, BTW ?)
Actually was my second watch from JLC ( next to a Reverso Duo Face from the 80ies),
this one has been with me quite a bit, on many a travel, on many occasions.
- simply said, one of my life watches.

Always have enjoyed its looks, elegance and what else - yes, unobtrusive class - maybe that's it for me.
Not pretending, being..

One tiny thing, though, that I had never understood on mine, were the few luminous indices/dots
on previous models , including mine from around 2003 ( with smaller case).
(Especially when on a plane, or on a different time, maybe 'dyssynced').
- So next to the just right size, the plainness, I will be glad that there are much more now ,
minor but for a travelling watch a nice-to-have.
- ahh , of course the other case back I would have liked well.

The other things, (quite relived, quite reloved), will be more like a homecoming to a very good friend ,
( as I have a white dial Geographique, I might look for the black dial now),
- Nice to look forward, my trusty companion revisited !
