Getting it in such a short lap of time is really unbelievable, even more because I remember Mo's story, all the patience he had to show to get his.

Thank you Nico for your kind words - you must know by now how much I value your comments.  I know you were away last weekend and I have secretely been hoping you would catch this thread as I knew you would be happy for me.

It's actually not as short a story as it would seem...I fell for this one last year when it was released and spoke to Mo last year in depth about it, he even asked his dealer if they could get me one but they couldn't.  When in London last year I spoke with all the AP dealers and also another dealer near me (the only one in the UK outside London) but they are all loyal to their own clients so I thought my dream was over, but I would be happy to just see one when I saw Mo next.

Then while having a chat to my dealer 2 weeks ago (I had gone in just to show him my black JV strap as they hadn't seen one) it all happened.  I'm also the first person to purchase an AP from them so I believe they are asking for a few treats from AP for me...one of the Purists AP shirts would be perfect..!! LOL.

So yes I am in heaven as I never thought dreams happen to people like me...this time it did...must be karma..!!  I genually can't think of another piece i would even consider against this piece at the moment so even though for me this is a huge amount of money to spend, I have no regrets at all.  You know I like to see the movement so this really is my dream piece...a skeleton from AP...to me it just doesn't get any better.

There is something special with skeletons... It takes you a lot of time to fully appreciate tham, that is difficult to put in words, but this is just magic.

and even more when they come from AP in a RO case. Was dreaming about the old versions in the past and called my local AP headquarter after Geneva 2010
to find out when it will arrive in the shops. I was told in summer, then autumn ... - haven´t seen one yet :-(

Would love to compare the new style of skeleton with the "old" technics ... and hopefully understand the key difference, strengths & weaknesses ...

Have you seen/read this book from AP:



It is available in english as well and helps a lot to understand more about finishing and so on.

But hey, I will not forget to congratulate you - just because your watch is so beautiful and I am so excited ...

The book looks very interesting...is it from AD's or Amazon..?  I think I need to understand more about the finishing and details and this looks like a good starting point.

Will a seasoned connoisseur or dedicated collector be able to accept the fact that his timepieces is not a unique object? As we have seen, the uniqueness of a watch lies essentially in the finishing and ornamentation made by watch decoration specialists. Despite the determination to maintain this tradition which is clearly displayed by high-end Manufacturers, would this tradition still exist if the artist’s unique touch could be replaced by a machine? One certainly cannot be sure of that...
