May I suggest something? One of my exes was a nutritionist and I learned a whole lot from her regarding how the body reacts to food and exercise...

I have been an athlete the majority of my life (golf and tennis). I was always in great shape but it was difficult for me to gain weight or muscle mass.
So she taught me about the 3 different body types (ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph). You can simply Google it to see which one you are. Once you understand your natural body composition, it is a lot easier to understand what types of food you need to consume to gain or lose weight. There is even a macro calculator that is VERY easy to use.
Trust me, it works!! In addition, it teaches you about your own body and what you can and cannot eat in order to get the desired results you want. So I highly suggest to take a look, if you have not done it already.
Exercise is great as it burns calories but at the end of the day, your daily consumption and what you eat makes up about 80 - 85% of your ability to gain or lose weight.
There is also the keto diet BUT that is mostly used to shred fat quickly or used as a very specific diet to reduce drastically the amount of sugar intake daily due to starving cancer cells, etc...
I can elaborate further if you want but just wanted to offer some friendly advice as a person who has gone through it and worked with some of the finest people in the field πππ
