Completely agree with your words Bill...
... I feel that the aging effect on GMT bezels adds to the charm of these old watches. Some colors are just amazing, and make for the strong character of a vintage GMT, even in common dials, and of course, much more if the dial got nicely aged indexes or some other special feature.
Your own watch is an amazing example indeed.

I call it my "Fuchsia GMT": It is a 1961 cornino, gloss and gilt, exclamation dot, and its bezel got an awesome color shift, to purple or fuchsia with a nicely faded blue.

It's been a while I'm in love with faded Gmt's inserts.... I'm always stunned when I realize how they radically transform a watch.
If I had to keep only one, this would be one of my purple/pink inserts, the nicest of all imho, and I think the rarest.
It's been years I hunt them and from what I know, they all come from watches from the 1966/1968 period, the Pcg gilt/first mat dials era.
On my 1972 1675:
Another purple/fuchsia/pink one fitted on my 1989 16750, unbelievable how many shades it can feature depending upon the luminosity.....

Another Purple one.
Another one, more violet/purple than pink, and that has partially lost its glossy coating thus looking a bit more "vintage".

I love the combination with the pen. The blue has a nice washed feel but still very deep blue.
You have a very nice fat font insert. I can't see the E or the L so I can't speculate on the date.

Just to update, my recently acquired Fat Font Serif and my Fat Font Orange/Deep blue.
Cool! Bravo! Still, I slightly prefer your orange and blue insert.
More in the DNA of the GMT while we go closer to the Sub with the Black.
