His detailed post and accompanying wrist shots offer a valuable perspective on the watch's wearability and aesthetic appeal, particularly for those navigating the nuances of Royal Oak sizing. This article synthesizes community insights, exploring why the 38mm ROC has resonated so strongly with collectors seeking a balanced and versatile sports chronograph.

My first Holy Trinity timepiece!

About the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 26715ST

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph reference 26715ST was introduced as a mid-size option within the Royal Oak Chronograph collection, bridging the gap between smaller and larger case diameters. It offers a contemporary interpretation of the Royal Oak's design language while catering to a broader range of wrist sizes, distinguishing itself from the 41mm chronographs and the time-only Royal Oak models.

This reference features a stainless steel case and bracelet, characteristic of the Royal Oak line, with its integrated design and alternating brushed and polished finishes. It is powered by the self-winding Caliber 2385, a column-wheel chronograph movement. The dial typically presents the 'Grande Tapisserie' pattern with contrasting sub-dials for the chronograph functions and a date aperture.

For collectors, the 26715ST is notable for its balanced proportions and the use of the Caliber 2385, a movement with a long-standing presence in Audemars Piguet's chronograph offerings. Its 38mm diameter is often considered a versatile size, appealing to those who find the 41mm too substantial and the 37mm time-only models lacking the chronograph complication.

I feel like the 41mm is too big on me, I think I’m about the same size as your hands, when I saw this one I was wow this is just perfect! Enjoy it

Regarding size, since 39mm has generally been considered the sweet spot for AP, one would think that the 38mm pieces would be the next closest thing as opposed to 41mm pieces. You example certainly makes this case nicely šŸ‘ŒšŸ½

Before the 38mm ROC came out (and the 39mm Jumbo is unlikely allocation), i was debating between 37mm 15450 or 41mm 15400/15500 for the longest time. I think i could have pulled off both, but that small nagging thing in the back of my head: 37mm looked just a tad too small and the 41mm seemed just a tad too large. 38mm was a near perfect compromise in size. Having the chrono in all blue even the sub-dials was perfect!
