Some of you might remember my original post when sometime last November, I picked up this “barn find” Audemars Piguet chronograph, while walking around in Manhattan’s diamond district.
It was an honestly worn twenty three years old watch, as it turned out, never serviced or polished(Pic.1-2.), but worn probably daily, since the bezel and crown as well as the case edges were all rounded, the bezel screws were sticking out, the movement while running, was dry, but the price(thanks to the modern trends), was a steal.

So I took a chance and immediately after I got it, walked over to the AP Boutique(20 minutes away), dropped it off for a complete service…
Four months and a painful bill later, here it is, in a brand new and I mean it, condition!

Unfortunately the bezel was un-saveable, so a new one was installed, and a minimal case polishing was also performed, to match the bezel.
As confirmed by AP, it was never touched due to the movements original state.
Anyway, now it’s back in its formal glory, and ready to be enjoyed!

Just love the size and comfort of this little watch!
Hope you enjoyed…
Zsolt.

P.S. I don’t know how you guys do years on waiting lists, since this four months for me felt like eternitysmile))

About the Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet 25860ST.OO.1110ST.03 Ref. 25860ST

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph reference 25860ST is a significant iteration within the Royal Oak collection, representing the brand's commitment to integrating chronograph functionality into its established octagonal case design. This reference is distinguished by its 39mm case diameter, often referred to by collectors as the "Jumbo" size for chronographs, maintaining proportions consistent with earlier Royal Oak models while incorporating a complex complication. It was produced during a period that saw the Royal Oak chronograph gain increasing recognition among collectors.

This reference features a stainless steel case measuring 39mm in diameter, paired with a fixed octagonal bezel secured by visible screws. The watch is powered by the automatic Caliber 2385, which provides a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the watch offers a water resistance of 50 meters. The integrated stainless steel bracelet is a hallmark of the Royal Oak design, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic and comfortable wear.

For collectors, the 25860ST holds appeal as a robust and functional sports watch from a prominent independent manufacturer. Its production run from 2005 to 2012 places it within a desirable era for modern Audemars Piguet chronographs. The blue dial variant is particularly sought after, aligning with the traditional Royal Oak color palette. This reference provides a blend of historical design cues with contemporary chronograph utility.
