Cartier introduced today several models to celebrate the 100th anniversary of one of its icons, the Tank. The good news is that the Louis Cartier is now available in two sizes consistent with the spirit of the watch. The big size can be worn by men or women. The small size is for women... it was not

Do you know anything about the 8971mc movement? I can see that it's previously been used on jewelery pieces with tiny handsets, and wonder whether it might be a very smal movement that could lack robustness or good timekeeping. I'd be pleased to hear if this isn't the case, as this otherwise looks to be almost the perfect tank LC and one that I'd be very interested in buying
Observations from other forums suggest the 8971 MC movement is actually a Jaeger-LeCoultre 846/1 manual wind caliber and yes, this would be quite small for the case. The movement is neither round nor square, but ellipse-shaped. To get an idea of its proportions, if you look at the rectangular minute markers on the dial, I'm guessing the movement would not be much larger than that. Fortunately lack of robustness is not an issue as the 846 has proven itself reliable from powering several models in
Tank with Reverso movement.
I am very excited about this watch. Does anyone know whether it will be available in white or yellow gold?
