Hulk's contemplation of the Omega Speedmaster Tokyo 2020 Rising Sun offers a timely look at a compelling limited edition. His post initiates a discussion on its merits, particularly in contrast to the newer Moonwatch and the elusive Snoopy, providing valuable insights for collectors weighing contemporary Speedmaster options. This article explores why this specific reference continues to capture attention years after its release.

Limited Edition of 2020. I'm about to order but thought I'd get some expert opinion. I'm fed up waiting for the snoopy and this may fill the gap. I've one other omega a 176.007, had PO but felt too big for my wrist, so let it go. All my recent watches are sporty therefore dress is out of favour for now. I have really like this dial colour and pitting since its release. it's based on the old 1861 calibre. I'm sure it's good? Last years release of the new Moonwatch seems the obvious choice with the new 3861 calibre and open back case but the black dial doesn't do it for me. I tried it on and was very impressed with the bracelet, best I'd come across in while. Does anyone know if that bracelet is the same as the one on the Tokyo model? All opinions welcome. Cheers S

. . . so you'll be in good company should you decide in its favor. My favorite Speedmaster of all is also one of the uncommon white dial versions, albeit considerably older. These images were originally posted on this website five years ago by cameraclock on our Collectors Market forum. White gold case, silver white dial, and chronometer-rated cal 864 movement. The ultimate, in my humble opinion. Art

This is a wrist shot from late 2019 in Tokyo. I loved it. And I planned to buy it, but wanted to do so when i was back in Tokyo for the Olympics several months later. That didn’t happen ! I think it’s all about the dial (and bezel in this case).

The Tokyo Rising Sun looks very cool. It’s obviously very much a personal choice. Have you had the opportunity to try it on your wrist ?

You can put the current bracelet or the 50th anniv bracelet, and it becomes simply great

and couldn’t get it out of my head. I ended up buying it brand new out of Japan. It was a great transaction and the watch is beautiful. I think it’s a great choice as evidenced by my own purchase. Good luck!

. . . and to think I had the opportunity of getting #10 with the white gold bracelet fourteen years ago, but passed. 😖
