I thought I would share my new arrival.  While I am still in the honeymoon phase, I just am in love with this one. Perfect size (for me) 38mm, it is a reference that is not seen often and I suspect does not get the attention it deserves or would receive had it been 2mm larger.  The blue is hard to describe and changes color based on the lighting.  I would say it is a denim or linen blue.  Overall the dial is a stunner with the Breguet/Arabic numerals. The high polish steel case and braclet make this more of a luxury watch rather than a sports watch.  Same as a Nautilus or Royal Oak.  Speaking of Nautilus this braclet (more specifically the clasp) is much nicer than the one on the Nautilus.  Some deem it a unisex watch (which I agree) or a ladies watch (which I disagree) but nevertheless for my small wrist of about 6.5" it is perfect.  My photo skills leave a lot to be desired, but notwithstanding that, this watch must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 4947

The Patek Philippe Reference 4947 is an Annual Calendar model introduced in 2022, notable for its steel construction and bracelet. This reference integrates the practical Annual Calendar complication within a case size that appeals to a broad range of collectors, distinguishing it from other Patek Philippe Annual Calendar offerings often found in precious metals. Its design emphasizes daily wearability while retaining the brand's technical horological standards.

This timepiece features a 38mm steel case, paired with a matching steel bracelet. It is powered by the self-winding Caliber 324 S QA LU, which provides the Annual Calendar function displaying day, date, and month, along with moon phases. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back. The front crystal is also sapphire. The power reserve for this movement is between 35 and 45 hours.

The 4947 appeals to collectors seeking a Patek Philippe Annual Calendar with a more contemporary and robust material choice. The blue Shantung textured dial provides a distinctive aesthetic. The steel bracelet further enhances its appeal as a versatile and durable option within the brand's complicated watch lineup, offering an alternative to leather strap configurations.

Functional piece carrying a lovely blue dial with “shantung” finish. IMO This fabric pattern elevates this reference to a new height. I tried it on previously and thought highly of it.

I am considering that model of a watch. In due time, perhaps. Geross.

While I appreciate the dial color and texture, the subdials are to crowded in the middle of the dial for my taste. All that dial real estate could IMHO been taken care of in a more elegant way by moving the subdials outwards. All IMHO of course and what’s most important is that you are happy with the purchase.
