One week ago I posted some pics from my first encounter with the 5088/100P and I received a lot of nice comments and questions whether I opted for it. Because it is a very special model I took some time to think about it and made a further visit at the PP boutique to decide on this matter. Furthermore, I had an extensive exchange with FabR who owns this piece himself and would like to thank him deeply for his knowledge and his insights.

Today I paid a third visit and purchased this Calatrava. I also chose three further straps next to the black one with which it is equipped: royal blue with white stitching, chocolate brown and champagne, as you can see them in the pics. The watch will be displayed now at the soon to come re-opening of the boutique so I will pick it up mid January after my Christmas vacation. Further pictures and review will follow later on as I am looking forward to have it on my wrist soon.

The 5088 on a blue strap looks great! The contrast with the blue makes the watch stand out. Would be interesting to see a picture with the champagne strap…that looks interesting as well!

the blue works very good imo, my wife dislikes it though...

Definitely a strap magnet when it comes to alligators!

Indeed I had to decide on a timepiece with low legibility in time showing and some impact on budgets so yes, I felt that I need to be very sure on this. Strap workability pushed me over the edge as well, thus the whole package is perfect and unique to me ;-)

must be glossy though, matte straps don't work here at least for me
