Puffy's introduction to the Patek Philippe family with his new 5167A Aquanaut captures the excitement of a significant first acquisition. His detailed account of sizing the rubber strap and subsequent long-term wear impressions offer valuable insights for prospective owners. This post beautifully illustrates the journey of integrating a Patek Philippe into a diverse collection.
Patek Philippe Aquanaut Reference 5167
The Reference 5167 represents the 40mm stainless steel iteration within Patek Philippe's Aquanaut model line. Introduced in 2007 and remaining in current production, this reference features a black dial and establishes the standard sizing for the steel Aquanaut offering.
The 40mm stainless steel case houses the automatic Caliber 324 S C movement, providing 45 hours of power reserve. The watch incorporates a sapphire crystal and smooth bezel configuration. Water resistance extends to 120 meters, while the distinctive composite rubber strap displays an embossed check pattern that complements the case design.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking contemporary Patek Philippe sports watch execution in stainless steel. The 5167 offers entry into the Aquanaut model range while maintaining the manufacturing standards associated with the Geneva manufacture. Its ongoing production status ensures availability through authorized channels for both new collectors and those expanding existing collections.
Wear your awesome Aquanut in best of health. Khalid
as a former owner of this watch all i can say is its awesome. Theres something special in my opinion in wearing something so valuable that know one ever knows about. regards darma
I also have a 5167 in my collection and it is a keeper! Understated, discreet but powerful at the same time. Enjoy it many years!
Firstly, on your choice for your first Patek I also remember how nerve racking it was, when I sized my strap...............just one false slip and it was all over!! LOL Secondly, upon finding your way to this excellent watch forum, you will find a wealth knowledge here on virtually every subject going. Take a look at the AHCI forum and see how the independents produce their pieces, especially my absolute favourite Mr Philippe Dufour Regards Tony
I like it more since its latest evolution: the "integrated" strap works well with the design of the watch. Fx
still loving the 5167 - only problem is i'm now looking to add MORE!!!! Makes Rolex and other brands look and feel so pedestrian....
