I don' think I will get many chances to see this one url ever again so when my AD in Brussels called me if I wanted to see it … I jumped in my car and went to his shop smile

I had to see the Chiming Jump hour smile

the engraving on this piece is amazing.  really starting to like this handcraft.
Many years ago I fell in love with enamel dials, had to save a lot and had to wait even longer before I got the chance to but a 5131.

Who knows my next project is an engraved piece smile
But definitely not a chiming jumping hour, this is way above my budget

Anyway, these are some pics I took a few hours ago

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5131

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5131 is a World Time model, distinguished by its cloisonné enamel dial depicting a map of the world. This reference is part of a series that showcases Patek Philippe's expertise in both horological complications and traditional decorative arts, offering a functional travel watch with significant aesthetic appeal. It represents a continuation of the brand's long-standing tradition of producing World Time watches, updated with contemporary design elements and a self-winding movement. The 5131 is recognized for its intricate dial work, which varies depending on the specific metal and region depicted.

The watch features a 39.5mm case, available in various precious metals, housing the self-winding Caliber 240 HU. This movement provides a power reserve of 48 hours and drives the World Time complication, allowing the wearer to simultaneously view the time in 24 different time zones. The case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, ensuring durability and clear visibility of the detailed dial. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, suitable for everyday wear. The fixed bezel frames the intricate dial, contributing to the watch's refined profile.

As a World Time model with a cloisonné dial, the 5131 appeals to collectors who appreciate both technical sophistication and artisanal craftsmanship. Its limited production and the unique hand-finished nature of each dial contribute to its desirability within the secondary market. The reference fits into Patek Philippe's Complications collection as a high-end travel watch, offering a distinctive alternative to more traditional time-only or chronograph models. Variants typically involve different precious metal cases and corresponding enamel map depictions.

and this watch deserves it. As you did, engraved work was not really my cup of tea but since several years I start to appreciate it more and more. The work on this 5275 is very well matching with the case's spirit imho, especially for an Anniversary edition. I must also say I like the way it is ringing, as a watch one may wear during week-ends for instance. You were lucky to hold one and thank you very much for sharing this with us :) Cheers, Mark

The 5275 has a beautiful case and a very special complication. However, I feel that they could have gone all the way by avoiding an embossed dial. It doesn't do justice to the handcraft artistry found on the case. Stamped dials feel faux somehow, or maybe I have the wrong idea/ impression? Sincerely H.

I was Lucky just as Bruno to see this piece when he took the pictures and I may say the finishing in detail is stunning !! Not that it is something i would realy like to have in my collection (aside the price tag of 289 K !!!!) but you have to admit that it's a piece of art on it's own. We're always lucky that Maison De Greef gives us the opportunity to have a look at these special pieces as it is exceptional to see those in real I suppose.
