Amanico shares his personal perspective on the Patek Philippe 5575 World Time, a significant anniversary reference. He highlights its unique features like the 39.8mm case, moonphase, and distinctive lyre lugs, while also candidly discussing its dial proportions. This post offers a valuable, candid collector's viewpoint on a notable Patek Philippe complication.

It is always a pleasure to " fall " on a Patek World Time, whatever is the reference.

Ok, I have a huge preference for the 51190, I am intrigued by the 5230, and quite seduced by the 5131 and its enamel dial, truth to be told.

In terms of size, the bigger World Time ( excluded the latest Chrono World Time ) is the 5575. With its 39, 8 mm case. The most complicated, with its moonphase, and the most sophisticated, with its lyre lugs.

The most desirable? Not from my point of view.

Because of the different parts of the dial dimensions.

BUT in the real, it is a bit different than from what you can see on a lab top screen.

Here is the beast I could take in pictures, thanks to its owner, our dear GLAU.

As I said, it is always a pleasure to see a Patek World Time.

I am not a big Patek Fan, but I have to say that when it comes to world timers, Patek is a mandatory milestone.

Best,

Nicolas

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5130

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5130, introduced in 2006, is a World Time watch that succeeded the popular reference 5110. This model maintained the distinctive World Time complication, allowing for simultaneous display of time in 24 different time zones. Its design evolved with a slightly larger case and updated dial aesthetics, distinguishing it from its predecessor while retaining the core functionality that defines Patek Philippe's travel timepieces. It was produced until 2017.

The watch features an 18k rose gold case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 9.8mm in thickness, housing the self-winding Caliber 240 HU movement. This ultra-thin movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back, provides a power reserve of 48 hours. The dial is silver or opaline with a guilloché center, protected by a sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

Reference 5130 appeals to collectors seeking a sophisticated travel complication from Patek Philippe. Its larger case size compared to the 5110 offered a more contemporary presence on the wrist, while its classic World Time mechanism remained a hallmark of the brand's technical prowess. The model was available in various precious metals, with the rose gold variant offering a warm aesthetic.

......this is one of if not THE nicest world time. I am besotted with its moonphase complication. The dial aesthetic is stunning.. We differ on the issue of dimension....it is a part of this watch. It doesn't detract for me. To me, this watch is one of the nicest they have made in years. In the flesh......it kills. When it is on your wrist.......uhhhmmmmmm

and had 5110P for a long time. The fact that I also bought 5110 J, R and G tells the whole story: Both 5131 and 5575 are great but it is very hard to beat the Original. I mean 5110. Saying this does not mean that I would not go for 5131P. The original modern World Time has something the newer references have not been able to repeat. For the complication the dimensions are just right and the dial is simply stunning. Nowadays I do not really know which one I like most: P has stunning blue but it i

If there was a quartett to have among all the Pateks I know, this would probably be the 5110 for me as well. I long thought about a quartett of 5070, but this is not very realistic. Best, Nicolas

I had three alternatives: - 5110 (done) - 5070 - 3940 The perpetual is still on my mind subject I'll find a perfect P. But that's difficult as I want the rare version with two case backs. Naturally, a cheaper alternative would be 5196. Also quite nice. Best, Kari
