Dom007 presents his Patek Philippe Ref. 5950/1A-012, a rare stainless steel split-seconds chronograph with a black dial, highlighting its understated elegance and technical prowess. His post delves into the appeal of high-end steel watches and the unique characteristics that make this particular reference a collector's dream.

this time really really rare!

Something special that keeps a low profile...
Something what you can wear whereever whenevere…
Enough descreet if you meet clients or potential clients.

For sure the 5711 was the trigger for my insight that high-end watches could be in ordinary steel too.

First for a considerable time I lust for the regularly 5950 with the silvery white opaline dial. But there were doubts, because I am a sucker for dark dials. Then at Baselworld 2015 a limited black dial version was luckily introduced.

What could be more descreet than a ordinary stainless steel chrono with dark dial?

A grand complication in steel with black dial as slim as possible based on a extra slim movement is...

Understated
Descreet
Just beautiful

I thought this will be my exit watch if I am able to get one, but it’s not! It's the entry to watch heaven...

Lust but not least I like to thank Mark in Paris, Miranda and small-luxery-world. For quite some time now I read your outstanding posts and reviews with great pleasure. It shows that you have profound know-how based on long-standing research and excellent taste.

Now I want to give something back to you and the others and hope you enjoy the pictures.

About the Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711

The Patek Philippe reference 5711/1A-011, part of the Complications collection, is distinguished by its white dial, offering a different aesthetic compared to other dial variations within the 5711 series. This particular configuration provides a clean and legible presentation, appealing to collectors who prefer a more understated yet refined look. It represents a specific iteration of a well-known Patek Philippe model, recognized for its integrated design.

The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case, housing the self-winding Caliber 26-330 SC movement. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, contributing to its water resistance of 120 meters. The fixed bezel and integrated bracelet are characteristic elements of its construction.

This reference appeals to collectors interested in the evolution of Patek Philippe's offerings, particularly those seeking specific dial colors within established model lines. Its production run from 2019 to 2021 marks it as a relatively recent, yet now discontinued, variant. The watch's specifications align with Patek Philippe's standards for mechanical timepieces.

First thank you for you kind wrods, it is a pleasure to share when we can and we really appreciate when people can do so as well when they get their piece or come to try one. This 5950 of yours is marvelous and a watch I never saw with black dial in the metal. Congratulations! Frankly, I didn't know this version, in a small limited edition, existed. I knew there was the non limited Patek 5950/1A-012 with a steel bracelet (novelty 2015) but wasn't aware of this one. You're the lucky owner of a ve
