In a heartfelt tribute, cbb shares a deeply personal connection to a remarkable set of Patek Philippe Ref. 5971P chronographs. This post honors the legacy of cbb's late father, Chamnong Bhirombhakdi, a "Leap Year boy" whose unique birthdate and favorite color green inspired the acquisition of these extraordinary gem-set timepieces. The discussion that follows explores the profound significance of intergenerational watch collecting and the rarity of such a complete set remaining within a family.

Dear All,

It has been a while since I last posted.

Since this year was a Leap Year, one might not know that my late dad was a Leap Year boy! He was born on Wednesday, Feb 29th and had a β€œreal” birthday only every four years.  He always teased us that he was younger than us because he had the right to count his age every 4 years πŸ˜‚

Being a Wednesday boy, his favorite color was green!  But then again... he also love other colors as well...hence a complete set of 5971P, diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald.

I am starting to believe that you have a better collection than the Stern family has at PP Museum ❀️
