GLau sparks a lively debate by showcasing his Patek Philippe Ref. 7200R with both its original 'matt pearly beige' strap and a new brown strap, questioning whether the watch leans masculine or feminine. His personal experiment, wearing his wife's watch, invites the community to discuss evolving perceptions of watch sizing and gendered aesthetics. This post highlights how strap choices can dramatically alter a watch's character and fit.

Dear All,

About a year ago, I wrote about the arrival of my / my wife's 7200R with "matt pearly beige" strap.

Finally, I convinced my wife to take off the watch and let me put on the brown strap so that I could wear it for a "few" days.

Below are photos of the 7200R with brown strap and a photo of it with the original "matt pearly beige" strap on my wrist.

What do you guys think of the overall fit and looks of the two different "watches" on my wrist ?

Thanks,

Gordon

Feminine

with either strap, but less so with the brown strap. Nice piece though!

Hi Nico, good to have your thinking on the 7200 hybrid. Perhaps it now is the...

best of both worlds ! So not masculine, not feminine, but androgynous ? Cheers, Gordon

It is just a watch which can easily be worn by a man.

To me, these are straps which are masculine or feminine, not the Watch! Best, my friend. Nicolas
