It's very very far away from home.

Perhaps watching Waikiki Beach from the hotel balcony...

Yes...

Or spending time with daughter and wife on Waikiki Beach?

Yes, also that.

Or perhaps taking photos of my pet Nautilus close to the pool?

For sure!

Or perhaps meeting another Purist with his wife?

For sure! It has been a great pleasure!

But what was the real reason to suffer a 26 hours travel time and the worst possible jet-lag?

There is one watch I wanted to buy again. I could not get it fast from any Patek Salon. The delivery time from an average AD was 12-24 months.

But Bob, a.k.a "Masterpiece" could find the watch from an AD in a couple of days. He even paid it on my behalf because a quick decision was needed (I paid it back).

This watch and all the above reasons forced me to travel to Hawaii. Naturally, the new Patek was the main reason but it's not too bad to recover the jet-lag for two weeks before flying back home.

We will have wonderful 12 days ahead, some good dinners with Bob and his lovely wife Patty. Our daughter Anne also loves the sea and all the pools of Hilton Hawaiian Village. I smile and very often check the time from my new Aquanaut 5167.

All the best to all Purists.

Kari

About the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5167

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Reference 5167

The Reference 5167 represents the 40mm stainless steel iteration within Patek Philippe's Aquanaut model line. Introduced in 2007 and remaining in current production, this reference features a black dial and establishes the standard sizing for the steel Aquanaut offering.

The 40mm stainless steel case houses the automatic Caliber 324 S C movement, providing 45 hours of power reserve. The watch incorporates a sapphire crystal and smooth bezel configuration. Water resistance extends to 120 meters, while the distinctive composite rubber strap displays an embossed check pattern that complements the case design.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking contemporary Patek Philippe sports watch execution in stainless steel. The 5167 offers entry into the Aquanaut model range while maintaining the manufacturing standards associated with the Geneva manufacture. Its ongoing production status ensures availability through authorized channels for both new collectors and those expanding existing collections.

Oh, by the way...I had to stay 2 weeks to recover from the jet lag. And while I'm here, a man has got to eat and drink. Its tough but with PuristS' resolve, I manage. :-) What was the special Patek Philippe watch that forced the move? Regards, MTF

The cheapest Patek and the seller is advertising themselves on the dial. The flights in decent manner were so bloody expensive as well as the Hilton resort here that I could not afford anymore anything fancier. But I got a mail from Patek Salon today. They told that one thing I want to get, is on the way. Plus they asked me to call because they have some very good news about something special. However, after all the purchases it's too expensive to call. Tough life! Best, Kari

I am indeed a very lucky and happy man. It's great to be here, family sleeping (finally quiet) and meeting my Purist friend again on Saturday. Now some sleep and tomorrow back to the waves. Best, Kari

So many things to love about it! The vacation with the family, the fellowship with a great fellow PuristS who help you pay for a watch first (top notch PuristS spirit!), the new Aquanaut, etc! Enjoy your new PP in the best of health! And of course, enjoy family time in this nice vacation Cheers Robin

it's quite lovely here. Next time I'm coming on business to Singapore, I might fly via Hawaii. Not the shortest way but for sure one of the nicest routes. Best, Kari
