Hello Patek Lovers,
I am seriously considering compressing my collection.

Some excellent posts came in with 2 piece (ABSOLUTELY AMAZING) collections......

I own the following:-

5035J
5110J
5196J
5127G
5296G

I personally prefer the 37-38mm size dynamic.

I think the 5110 world time is a keeper.......
The 5127G is my favourite Calatrava (and I added the very costly deployant buckle)

I am thinking..... SELL the 5035, 5296 and 5196

BUET WHAT DO I GET?????

Possibly a 5170 ????

Do you think I am crazy?

Will I be more respected for the higher level 3 pieces than the 5 pieces I currently own ???? (yes I am an insecure Patek owner)

About the Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Ref. 5035

The Patek Philippe reference 5035 introduced the annual calendar complication to the brand's regular production lineup, marking a significant development in accessible high horology. This reference automatically accounts for months with 30 or 31 days, requiring manual adjustment only once a year at the end of February. Its introduction provided collectors with a sophisticated calendar function that was more practical for daily wear than a perpetual calendar, yet still showcased Patek Philippe's technical prowess.

The 5035 features a 37 mm case, offered in 18k yellow gold, white gold, or rose gold, with a smooth bezel. It is powered by the automatic caliber 315 S IRM QA, which includes a power reserve indicator, date, and small seconds. The movement provides a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the watch is water resistant to 25 meters.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking a historically important Patek Philippe annual calendar. Its design is characterized by a balanced dial layout, typically in silver, with sub-dials for the month, day, and date, along with a power reserve indicator. The 5035 was produced from 1996 to 2006, establishing the annual calendar as a core complication within the Patek Philippe collection.

Will you be more respected based on which watches you choose to keep?

Respect

Ownership of tangible items may attract envy, burglary, or robbery. It might result in admiration of your taste by the like-minded. But ownership cannot bring respect, which must be earned in other ways. As for the watch choice, you might consider your favorite version of the 5960. Park

Respect is earned not for the quality of your watch, only for its size. [nt]

If you're considering another piece...

If you're considering getting another piece, then don't SELL anything for cash. Trade the watches you want to get rid of towards another piece - you will get better value retention that way. And don't rush into any decisions, take your time, look around and make the right deal.
