Kykw shares highlights from a Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition, focusing on the vibrant enamel dials of two Ulysse Nardin and Patek Philippe pieces, alongside a F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu. This post celebrates the artistry of enamel work and the striking colors found in high horology, offering a visual feast and insights into collector preferences. Kykw's personal Patek Philippe 5235G adds another dimension to the discussion of colorful dials.

The grand exhibition was nice, but the real highlight for me was meeting two fellow Purists, Gordon and Jay, over coffee. Gordon showed us two of his enamel pieces, as I learnt to appreciate the creation of enamel in finer details. The dynamism and the different levels of shades in colour are very impressive. There’s a side by side comparison between his UN and Patek. I have a small preference for the Lion because I like how the case with wider bezel and strong lugs frame the enamel dial.

Jay came with his Chronometre Bleu, arguably the most vibrant single colour dial across different brands. An excellent watch too.

I must not have realized that there’s a colour dial theme going on as I’ve been traveling with my 5235G.

Thanks gentlemen for meeting up. Let’s do it again soon.

Gordon’s pieces stole the show a little. How could they not? Between the two however I think my aesthetic preference lies with the UN.

Most of us don’t need the encouragement to chase new pieces, we are doing enough damage all by ourselves. With a group like this fuel just gets added to the fire.
