FabR shares a captivating photo essay from a Patek Philippe event held at the historic Castello di Frassinello in Northern Italy. His post offers a glimpse into the exclusive world of Patek collectors, featuring both new releases and cherished vintage pieces. The article highlights the community's appreciation for such gatherings and the opportunity to experience haute horlogerie firsthand.

Let me share with you a few pictures of a wonderful Patek event last Friday, at the breathtaking "Castello di Frassinello," a 1000+ year-old castle in the wine region of Monferrato smile

Great food (and of course wine, and champagne, and cocktails), and great watches old and new -- all accompanied with a beautiful show at the beginning and end of the night for the 100+ attendees.

My special thanks goes to Anna C. and her family, one of my favorite ADs, for organizing another truly successful event in every detail. And an even bigger thank-you this year for assigning me the spot to the right of the Patek Italia president at the main dinner table ;-)

Here's my friends a small selection of pictures that my girlfriend and I took on Friday... Hope you'll enjoy, and have a great Sunday! smile

About the Patek Philippe Split-Seconds Chronograph Ref. 5370

The Patek Philippe Reference 5370 is a split-seconds chronograph, a complication highly regarded in horology. It stands out in the Patek Philippe collection for its focus on a technically demanding chronograph mechanism without additional complications, presented in a classic and refined aesthetic. This reference appeals to collectors who prioritize mechanical complexity and traditional watchmaking.

The watch features a 41 mm case, available in either 18k white gold or 18k rose gold, with a polished bezel. It is equipped with the manual-winding caliber CHR 29-535 PS, a movement known for its innovative split-seconds mechanism and column-wheel control. The power reserve is approximately 65 hours. A sapphire crystal protects the dial and offers a view of the movement through the case back. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

This reference is notable for its enamel dial, offered in black or white, which provides a depth and finish characteristic of high-end watchmaking. The 5370 appeals to collectors seeking a pure expression of a grand complication chronograph from Patek Philippe, valuing its technical execution and understated design. It represents a significant offering within the brand's complicated watch lineup.

The 5212 was perhaps my biggest surprise of the 2019 models -- the 40mm size is perfect, the dial in the end is not too crowded, and the weekly calendar is a simple but also very modern complication... Cheers.

Looks amazing! Any surprises in this new lineup that you experienced? Aside from the 5212 that is... did you attend the event with your special Boccadasse?

In the end I decided to wear the 5167, since my girlfriend and I also took a look at the area before the party...but the 5177 remains a top candidate for another event later this summer, as I already promised it to a few people there.. Here's a picture where I tried to replace my modest 5167 with the 5370P in the cage, too bad that they found out in time... ) Cheers.
