This candid account offers crucial insights for potential Nautilus owners.

Why don't you take your watch to Geneva Salon? They are reasonable people and my experience is that servicing happens faster through Salons. Best, Kari
A few remarks from your post Christian. I got my 5712 from the Parisian Salon with the free 3-year-old servicing (given with any new watch), hence, even though the warranty is passed, any problem would have been solved. I had my watch serviced that way and got it back in February 2016, 3 months after I gave it to the Salon. From the different posts we have here, it really seems to depend on the region. In the US, the delay seems quite long while I noticed that in Western Europe it seemed rather
the date of my 5980/1A-011 broke down a week ago (also). It is stuck between 2 dates (so to speak). It always had issues btw since I owned it (since 2013) new, but I never got round sending it in because I always got it to work properly by winding (setting) the date by passing 12 by moving the hands (when it was stuck). I should have send it in while still under warranty... Already dreading the wait.... :-(
But I agree; Patek's experience should be different to other brands or at least that is what they want you to believe before making the purchase- the 10 values that is advertised everywhere. Let's hope you get it repaired it quicker with a good result the first time. My advice would be to watch for other cosmetic problems when the watch comes back from the service. What I don't understand is that why Patek only gives 1 year of guarantee after the service. Most high end brands give 2 years. Anywa
maybe go to the Salon and explain how rarely you are wearing this since you have a vast collection and maybe count this as a warranty issue? Hope it will resolve soon. Rgds Raymond
... please do not give up this watch. It is absolutely stunning (way more than your picture shows, as you know it is almost impossible to do justice to this watch in photos). 6 to 8 months sound like an eternity but you will be happy after seeing it working again. In the end, remember this is not your watch, you are just looking after it for the next generation ;-) Jokes apart, this watch is a keeper and certainly worth servicing. Good lucky!
