Jay (Eire)'s exploration of the Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711 with a white dial offers a timely reflection on a highly coveted reference, especially relevant as Patek Philippe has since discontinued this specific model. His insights into its wearability and versatility highlight why certain watches become indispensable travel companions and daily drivers for collectors. This discussion provides valuable context for understanding the enduring appeal and practical considerations of owning such a significant timepiece.

The Patek Philippe reference 5711/1A-011, part of the Complications collection, is distinguished by its white dial, offering a different aesthetic compared to other dial variations within the 5711 series. This particular configuration provides a clean and legible presentation, appealing to collectors who prefer a more understated yet refined look. It represents a specific iteration of a well-known Patek Philippe model, recognized for its integrated design.
The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case, housing the self-winding Caliber 26-330 SC movement. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, contributing to its water resistance of 120 meters. The fixed bezel and integrated bracelet are characteristic elements of its construction.
This reference appeals to collectors interested in the evolution of Patek Philippe's offerings, particularly those seeking specific dial colors within established model lines. Its production run from 2019 to 2021 marks it as a relatively recent, yet now discontinued, variant. The watch's specifications align with Patek Philippe's standards for mechanical timepieces.
I just need to add the latter. All in due time. It does look great on your wrist. You have great taste in watches, my friend!
White or Blue...need to have that wrist time
The silvery white dial to me, is stunning. The black outlined indices gave a very bold contrast and the colour matched date window made this a very nice package. Also just noticed that Patek officially took the White 5711 off the catelog.
Watch collection is indeed "contradictory". On one hand we don't want to keep the watch in box as safe queen since it defeats the purpose of watch collection. On the other hand we want to keep the watch as pristine as possible...... this dilemma is probably one of the funs of this hobby.
dont you mind telling me what CB is ?
I would obviously be upset to have a major ding or scratch on any watch, but it can happen. I owned a Royal Oak for several years and a few years into ownership I got a big nick on the bezel, it was really annoying. But I wore that watch a lot and so it was inevitable. Some other watches, Rolex mostly, have much more wear / evidence of wrist time and it suits them. Those I don’t mind so much.
