Amanico's insightful review of Patek Philippe's 2022 World Timer novelties provides a crucial look at how the brand evolves its iconic complications. His detailed analysis of the 5230P, 5231G, and 5930P, particularly highlighting the return of the 'Sunflower' guilloché, offers collectors an essential perspective on these significant releases. This article synthesizes community reactions, offering a comprehensive view of these highly anticipated Patek Philippe references.

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5130, introduced in 2006, is a World Time watch that succeeded the popular reference 5110. This model maintained the distinctive World Time complication, allowing for simultaneous display of time in 24 different time zones. Its design evolved with a slightly larger case and updated dial aesthetics, distinguishing it from its predecessor while retaining the core functionality that defines Patek Philippe's travel timepieces. It was produced until 2017.
The watch features an 18k rose gold case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 9.8mm in thickness, housing the self-winding Caliber 240 HU movement. This ultra-thin movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back, provides a power reserve of 48 hours. The dial is silver or opaline with a guilloché center, protected by a sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.
Reference 5130 appeals to collectors seeking a sophisticated travel complication from Patek Philippe. Its larger case size compared to the 5110 offered a more contemporary presence on the wrist, while its classic World Time mechanism remained a hallmark of the brand's technical prowess. The model was available in various precious metals, with the rose gold variant offering a warm aesthetic.
5230P is a beautiful watch a lovely blue guilloche dial ! The 5930P’s green dial is great if one wants an eye 👁 catching watch , but too bright for my taste 😉 The 5231G naturally is my addiction and poison ☠️ !🤣
they all bring something fresh to the table... I do like the new guillouche work on the blue but not completely convinced with the all blue appearance against the outer ring... I would perhaps wish for something more like the 5110P but perhaps that would have been too easy... It looks overall as a most elegant timepiece and a welcome addition against the 5230G and R. as for the 5231G, I would first like to mention I am a touch disappointed with Patek for having continued with the map themes imme
The current PP catalog doesn't appeal to me that much, but the world time is an exception
I do like the 5230P. The combination of a complete blue dial and the suede leather strap are quite appealing.
with regards to the 5930P, a blue would be too much of an overlap with the G which is already blue... I really like the green and could really see myself wearing one!
I'm with Keks for the 5230P, I think it would be better if the dial is not completely blue. As for the 5231G, I really like it. Of course because of the white metal + enamel, I prefer this reference over the 5131. And it would be even better if they change the hands Nothing much I can say about the 5930P, as I'm not a fan of this reference. Too many pushers & the dial is too busy, IMHO. cheers
