Created in 1999, Montres Journe has become in less than 15 years one of the most innovative and reputed swiss manufactory. Francois Paul Journe is considered as one of the most talented watchmaker of the last decades. The motto of the master watchmaker is "invenit and fecit" for "invented and made".
The Octa collection - Octa Réserve de Marche (2001), Octa Chronographe, Octa Calendrier (2002), Octa Lune (2003) and Octa Divine- is powered by the same self-winding movement with its 120 hour power reserve, 21'600 alt/hour, chronometer performance thanks to its large balance with "gyromax" screws (21'600 vph). After 5 years, 3 years in research and 2 years development, this movement was planned so that complications can be added later without changing the measurements of the mechanism (30 mm diameter and 5.70 mm high).
Shortly after his launch, the model Octa Calendrier won the Special Jury's Award in 2002 at the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie of Geneva. The model was the first self-winding wristwatch with 120-hour power reserve and annual calendar with retrograde date. Caliber 1300-2 also features twin springs barrel and 32 jewels.
The transparent case back, secured by six screws, allows to see the full 18k pink gold movement, for amagnetic performance. The annual calendar requires only one correction per year, during the month of february.
This particular model from 2007 is in pink gold with grey dial and is currently being serviced with Montres Journe USA.
Comes with box, warranty card and service papers.
