Description

I'm exploring the possibility of trading this beautiful collectible watch in mint condition with everything including Certificate of Origin, winding box, etc., for another watch of at least equal value. Please don't send offers of multiple watches or offers that you know are of far less worth than my watch. I haven't taken pix yet, but will gladly send you photos if anything serious comes up. I am in New York City, and I have impeccable references. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

📖 About This Reference

The Patek Philippe Reference 5059R-001 is a self-winding perpetual calendar wristwatch with a retrograde date display, distinguished by its officer's style case. This reference belongs to a lineage of Patek Philippe perpetual calendars that prioritize the calendar complication without additional features such as minute repeaters or tourbillons, offering a focused presentation of its complex calendar mechanism. It represents a specific aesthetic choice within the brand's perpetual calendar offerings, appealing to collectors who appreciate traditional case designs. This timepiece features an 18K rose gold case with a hinged dust cover over the sapphire crystal exhibition back, allowing for observation of the movement. The case measures 36mm in diameter and houses the self-winding caliber 315 S QR. This movement provides a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and drives the perpetual calendar functions, including day, month, leap year, and moon phases, in addition to the retrograde date. The crystal protecting the dial is sapphire. The 5059R-001 is particularly notable for its officer's case, a design element that adds a layer of traditional watchmaking craftsmanship and historical appeal. This feature distinguishes it from other perpetual calendar references that may employ more contemporary case styles. It appeals to collectors seeking a Patek Philippe perpetual calendar with a classic, understated elegance and a visible nod to historical watch case construction, fitting into the brand's diverse range of high-complication timepieces.

Back to basics!
With the mania around sport watches in general, and the hysteria around the Tiffany pieces reaching a fewer pitch, let's take a step back a look at what Patek Philippe really is known for: timeless and understated elegance and top quality. A good example of timeless elegance is the simple Calatrava

Dear all purists, I’m saving for my next Patek purchase and would like to hear your advises...
I’m struggling between which of the following I should acquire. 5059R 3940J 5056P Their current market prices are kind of similar (well, less for 5056P since it’s an annual calendar not a perpetual). It’s very tempting for me to be able to own a Grand Complication from Patek (I believe it’s normal )

Which Perpetual should I “upgrade’ to? 5059 or 3940?
Dear all, What would you suggest if I want to upgrade my 5035G to a Perpetual? I’m thinking of 5059 and 3940 as both of them fit my wrist almost perfectly and the prices are relatively affordable. Anyone can share their experience of these pieces? I DON’T need a Perpetual but I think it would be rea

Hi All, I always loved watches for their technical aspects and as something you can wear on a daily basis ever since I was young. However, I only started really appreciating the beauty, workmanship and details that can make or break a watch. Also being female, in a predominantly male dominated passi
