The grained dial is quite nice, and the day/date not as obtrusive as I had thought. The bracelet though is far too wide as many have said, and it is a major letdown for me. A strap might save this one though!

A first from Lange. The first ugly Lange in history. Bracelet is hideous, cheapens the watch and don’t get me started on the big ugly Day/Date indicators...

Initially I was surprised and a little shocked to see a steel ALS Sports watch or perhaps better described as a less than a dress watch. I didn't think that was what ALS was about. Then I got to thinking about the Zeitwerk, which to me isn't a classic ALS... 

It was not what I was expecting when I first laid eyes on it in the metal, but it didn't take long to see the Lange DNA all over it. Many of the things that I feel are being nit picked in the close up photos, like the pushers, are quite subtle in person. ... 

Made me think about the response to the VC Fifty Six, AP Code1159 and most recently the Chopard Alpine Eagle - what a fickle bunch we are - haha. It’s good to see Lange enter this market segment and I will personally reserve judgement until I see it in th... 

Besides the bracelet and one-eared case (an odd design choice to be sure), my bigger disappointment is that, for nearly $30K, Lange cannot seem to build a big date complication that puts the two date disks in the same plane - and then they put an unsightl... 

I have contradictory thoughts, I love some features and don't like some details. The watch looks very nice on your wrist. I guess it's a watch to be worn, not a watch to be simply "admired". I want to see it in the flesh, not crazy about it but who knows,...

...however, I can't help but to think that will change after some time has passed. From a sheer aesthetic standpoint, it offers an interesting combination of features (grand Day/Date on a 40mm watch, multiple finishes on a tasteful blue dial, symmetry, mi...

The aesthetics is mediocre, mediocre, mediocre at best. I can’t decide if it’s a dress watch on bracelet or a sports watch. The bracelet looks too refined. It’s nothing like Rolex AP or PP. This is seriously a no go for me, just like many other brands tha... 

except for some misgivings -- not about the bracelet, which many on other sites find "hideous" -- not me! but about the date typography, especially the serifs on the date-of-the week, which are surely there to emphasize the Lange tradition. The week-date ... 

I also noticed that the week day is slightly bigger than the date figure(s). A more symetrical look would have been better but still: I think this watch is a triumph! The offered complications are very useful, for the exact reasons you have mentioned. Fur... 

But will keep an open mind. While some sport watches DO have day and date... this one makes them both HUGE SERIOUS complications, which are UNsportwatch-like... emotionally, it's cold, like Lange did not understand the 'adventurous-feeling' of Sport... bu... 

Nautilus, Overseas and Royal Oak in particular are way too thin to give them any heft on the wrist. In my book the named three are full steel dress watches. The Odyssesus is 11 mm thick and one can tell by the pictures that it wil have some weight on the ...
