If saxonia ac came after this one, many would say the outsize date is a huge improvement; cleaning up the dial, conferring balance, and come on... why not go w/ outsize date over date dial.
Somehow I find the alange&sohne logo coupled with the subdials at 9 and 3 is just too much to digested.. Also a 24 Hr indicator instead of the "annual cal" text would have worked better..
The 1815 aesthetic seems to work better, to me, for this type of complication; i.e., Calendar Watches such as this and the perpetuals. I guess it's because I find the PW model so attractive. Thanks for posting this, Fx. I look forward to your review.

Better then last iteration, but whats with the red 1 and black 31 for date. Might as well have a black 3 and red 1. And do i have to shout to the world its a annual calender? Its like a 1990s Japanese car that wears 16V, turbo, twin cam badges at the rear...
i love the 1815 series and the dial and font This AC seems a bit cluttered for me though. I can see it's appeal from a vintage inspired standpoint but I still prefer the Saxonia AC Cheers Robin
