Patek Philippe: I see your point about the automatic on such a dressy watch...

...but to balance that out, it has no seconds hand : ) I tried on the Olive dial version last week. Beautiful color, but I wonder if I would tire of a strong dial color? I really wish they had a yellow gold version. I wanted to see the new-ish reference with the mesh bracelet but it wasn't there. To

IWC: 36mm is considered classic on a Day-Date...

...but I have never tried one on at that size. I have only worn the larger ones, and wished they were 38-39mm instead.

IWC: Mine is shrinking too as I get older...

...not to even mention recently losing a bunch of weight to fit into a tux : ) But I don't love huge watches either. 40mm is about as big as I like to go. And I am very OK with a 35-36mm dress watch. A Patek 3940 would be most welcome. Just not small on a sporty watch...
