I recently purchased a new Lange 1 in pt, w/ black dial -- the "darth". The AD (who is, I think, extremely knowledgeable) issued a stern warning not to advance the date, under any circumstances, between 9 pm and 3 am, which could cause grave damage to the movement -- so much so that even the Lange service department in Germany would be at pains to repair the damage. Can anyone comment on this ? Is this a well recognized fact about the Lange 1 ? Is it true for any time between 9 pm and 3 am, or only when the date is in the process of changing ? Does this not constitute a rather big "design flaw" ?? (After all, one might, late at night, accidentally bump the watch and inadvertently advance the date, thereby, causing almost irreparable damage !) Thanks for any comments that can clarify this.
