I have a major gripe with this watch and I am perplexed at the lack of enthusiasm for the Lange. The 5396g is not, imo, a harmonious dial. All of its information is constricted to the center of the watch. All that information that looks squeezed in the middle, leaving lots of space at 3 and 9 o'clock. When I tried it on, the leather strap was thin and cheap, the deployment clasp was fiddly to deal with (The video of Sarkozy's clasp coming undone came to mind when trying this watch on) and the movement looked sterile and plain compared to the Saxonia. Truly disappointed with a watch that many of the Purists swear by. When I tried it on, it did not feel anywhere close to the same value as the Lange let alone more expensive. The Saxonia Annual calendar is one of my all time favourite watches. It offers far more balance and synergy than the Patek.

Even with the Langematik Perpetual, even with the Datograph and we don't find their dials unbalanced. The real low gravity watch in Lange collection is IMHO the Cabaret Tourbillon. Again, it is a matter of taste. Thanks for your input. Fx

After looking at it carefully, I find it a beautiful watch with clean and balance dial.
The problem is: when you see too often Langmatik Perpetual and Datograph, you start to compare and and put this watch in the same category. Naturally, you find emptiness on the dial. You may even think that Lange tries to cut corners. Regards Ling
