on both the TimeZone IWC forum as well as on the official IWC.ch collectors
forum and found that a SS IWC deployant clasp taking 18mm wide straps has
IWA number IWA05337.
"Robert L." on TimeZone (aka "GST 3536" on the IWC.ch forum) ordered this
IWA05337 deployant for his SS 3536 AT.
According to his posts this IWA05337 has both brushed and polished surfaces.
Here is a pic. by Robert L.
The "pin" that is on the deployant clasp is smaller then the holes in the
rubber strap. It works fine with me but Robert L. made this change to his
deployant:
The substance added is "" ...custom PVDF (PolyVinyliDene Fluoride - tough,
stable and easy to machine) ...""
But I use the deployant "pure" and have not experienced problems.
Two things left for me to address:
Are you familiar with the IWC style of deployants? If not, may I advise you
to try before you buy! For a single folding deployant to be comfortable, the
strap must fit your wrist such that the deployant is "centered" on the
underside of your wrist. If it isnt, wearing comfort drops below zero !
I am not aware that IWC offers its rubber straps in different lenghts
(regular, large and small) but if you cant wear the deployant comfortably
you should ask the AD if different strap sizes are available.
I wear my straps reversed: the strap with the holes is attached to the 12
o`clock side of the case. It makes wearing a deployant for me very
comfortable.
Second, I am not sure, but it might be that IWC offers this SS deployant in
different finishing styles. So it cant hurt to ask the AD to check the
possible existance of other SS deployants by IWC and pick the one that
matches your watch best. But, again, I am not sure different styles exist!
