It's the economy, stupid....
It's quite simple. ALS must grow and there are several options for this. You could increase the number of units, but you have to build new buildings, buy machines and hire staff (which is currently not available). Alternatively, you can grow by making products more expensive. You can do this with far less investment. You don't need new buildings, new machines or new staff (although you do need to train them). This means that growth can be realized without great risk. As long as global demand is greater than supply, this certainly works very well (better to sell a watch for 100k than 2 for 40k). If times get worse, you can offer simpler models in the catalog again and thus make it cheaper to get started.
So everything is rationally understandable. Nevertheless, I am convinced that I am not (or no longer) the right customer for ALS.
