Howdy,
Lange introduced the Time Zone model in April 2005; therefore it´s not older than this.
Extrapolating production times from movement/case inscriptions basically is possible to do, but there´s one caveat:
The cases/movements are not always used in corresponding order; sometimes some numbers are "skipped" and thus a piece with a higher case/movement number may be older than a piece with a lower number.
In addition, the photos in use for the catalogues at time show pre-production models or prototypes; these may or may not be in line with Lange´s regular numbering and thus can be off. The reason is simply catalogues to give an impression of what the watch looks like and not to provide statistically correct data to outline production totals or production dates.
In general Lange doesn´t share production dates or production totals, therefore buying a watch without proper paperwork can lead to a little uncertainty (not the less in terms of origin/history of the specific watch).
Nonetheless, in terms of the Lange Time Zone it´s impossible to be older than mid 2005. That´s still a young watch
Cheers,
Peter
