Very sorry about your friend. "ALS" is not Lange's branding (unless I'm mistaken), and I'll never call it "ALS" (and never have) for that same reason.
Nobody used to call it "ALS." "ALS" became a popular shorthand some years ago. I was hoping the term would never catch on, but unfortunately it did among a subset of collectors/enthusiasts (perhaps newer/younger ones). Of course, those who haven't been to...
