.. about what you wrote from another friend who is very familiar with Lange. So the change of the case finishing ( mid section to brush ) is actually relatively recent. Which makes this even more puzzling!
Yes, the warranty papers was date stamped 2006 by the AD that 1st sold this watch. So it has to be in 2006. The 1st 3 digit is "154". And I like to emphasise again that it has never been serviced. The movement is still full blown patina. Actually it is precisely this reason that I also plan to send in for service. I also got some issues about the chronograph function.
I have reached out to someone in Glashutte and even he can't explain why this is so. But he will ask someone else that about this. If I got an update, I will share it here.
