but I do not 'get' this watch... yes, it's utterly stunning, but... in pics it does not convey 53K to me... this is not to detract from the 10 years or from the accomplishment of this watch's creation... I just... don't get the cost. I have owned several ... 

As with everything, this is NOT for everyone, but for someone it is everything. Some get it and some don't. Acquire it if you love it, otherwise there's plenty of other in the product line that will make you happy. -MW
