I wear watches between 35mm and 42mm. The 42mm feels smaller on my wrist than one of the 39mm ones merely because of the height of the case and how the lugs curve. 15400 is still available but hard to find. 15202 is even harder.
They kept 39mm exclusive. So entry level are the unusual size of 41mm and 37mm
Well it was fine when I tried it.
But I just read that too many people prefer the 39mm. Actually their wrist shots with the 41 were terrible unlike mine. Too bad the 15300 was discontinued. Without considering community input I’m fine with 41
If that was true, then you’d not be asking our opinion then. It’s obvious that you’re not wholly convinced, and in my opinion, it’s marginal when viewed in isolation.

If you worry about the fact that it might be too big, then in 95% of the cases it is too big.
Maybe. Time will tell.
I can rock a Panerai. This one is so much thinner and comparably easy on the wrist.
Scratches
If the scratches do not bother you your fine. A smaller size would not protrude as much and impact less objects.
