I don't know much about AP but I sure know Rotring when I see one (Haven't seen this for a while). I have two of their three-lead size mechanical pencil while I was still doing drafting. The second one was procured in the late 1990s hearing that they were going under, and I was using the original pencil I have like crazy, and thinking that it would break. Neither broke and are still working fine!

I always used their technical pens when I was a young draftsman back in the day. I think I still have them somewhere. I also have the pencils 0,7 0,5 0,3 in the same series as your fountain pen. They make some really amazing tools.
